In complex international cooperation and competition,national image plays an increasingly prominent role as an important part of national cultural soft power.Therefore,our country attaches great importance to "telling Chinese stories well and creating a good national image".With the continuous enhancement of my country’s comprehensive strength and the proposal of the "Community with a Shared Future for Mankind" and the "One Belt,One Road" initiative,more and more foreign friends have begun to learn Chinese,and foreign language teaching materials are an important medium for them to perceive China’s image.It can be seen that whether it is possible to create a good image of China in teaching materials is of great significance.The source of the corpus of the textbooks for reading Chinese newspapers and periodicals as a foreign language has certain particularity in the shaping of China’s image.Based on this,this paper takes the textbook "Learning Chinese by Reading Newspapers"(Advanced)as the research object.By sorting out,counting and analyzing the number and distribution of Chinese image elements in this textbook,it explores its advantages and disadvantages in shaping China’s image.Suggestions for the construction of Chinese images of such textbooks.This paper takes constructivism theory and schema theory as the theoretical basis.First of all,using the "China Image: The Current Situation and Countermeasures of China’s National Image International Communication" as the classification standard,the qualitative data analysis software NVivo is used to analyze "Reading Newspapers to Learn Chinese"(Advanced)The Chinese image elements in the textbook are classified and counted,and the distribution of Chinese image elements in the textbook and the difference between the upper and lower volumes are analyzed.Then,a questionnaire survey was used to conduct a national image cognition survey among the users of the textbook "Learn Chinese by Reading Newspapers"(Advanced),and the data obtained were subjected to descriptive analysis and ANOVA correlation analysis.Finally,combined with the statistical results of the textbook and the results of the questionnaire survey,this paper explores the advantages and disadvantages of the textbook in shaping China’s image and puts forward corresponding suggestions,so as to provide a reference for the shaping of the image of China in the textbook of reading Chinese newspapers and periodicals as a foreign language.The research found that the Chinese image elements in "Learn Chinese by Reading Newspapers"(Advanced)are comprehensively enriched,embedded in nature,scientifically and rationally selected,and the image is objective and true.However,there are also shortcomings: the proportion of factors in each dimension is seriously skewed,the lag and timeliness of language materials,and the difficulty of language materials.Finally,from the above conclusions,I put forward the following five suggestions based on the results of the questionnaire: enhance the awareness of national image construction;construct a multi-dimensional,three-dimensional,objective and true national image;shorten the cycle of textbook updating;supplement the latest materials;improve the readability of the text.It is hoped that this research can improve the awareness of public diplomacy in the compilation of textbooks for reading Chinese newspapers and periodicals as a foreign language,so as to shape a national image that can help the development of the country. |
