| As the most representative writer in the Bashu region,Li Jieren integrates himself into the people and into a community.His works demonstrates the sense of space in historical events with his unique humanistic perspective and common concept.In the River Trilogy,it presents a unique literary space with historical time as the background and the rich physical space and social space as the latitude and longitude,and shows Bashu’s secular life for decades.This paper adopts the theory of spatial narrative and Long Diyong’s spatial narrative,and starts from the formation of literary space of Li Jieren,the expression of spatial narrative in novels,and the methods of its use.It discusses Li Jieren’s attention to space,city,social history and human destiny by analyzing the typical spaces and the spaces’metaphorical meaning in the novels,and considers the value and significance of Li Jieren’s novels in the history of modern Chinese literature.The details are as follows:Firstly,it discusses the internal connection between Li Jieren’s life experience and his literary space.This chapter exposes Li Jieren’s distinctive literary space,analyzes the underlying reasons for the formation of literary space by effects of literary tradition,May 4thnew literature and life experiences on Li Jieren,and concludes that the formation of writers’literary space has commonalities and its own particularity.Secondly,it deals with spatial presentation in Li Jieren’s long historical novels.This part focuses on the selection of the three forms of historical space,market space and environment space in the River Trilogy.This chapter discusses the embodiment of historical space in Li Jieren’s novels and its influence on the characters of people from Sichuan,by depicting the living space of beautiful people in daily life,it reveals the complex relationship between people and people and between people and society,it analyzes the effect of the environment on the development of the novel’s plot,character construction,and sublimation of meaning.Thirdly,it analyzes the spatial narrative characteristics of Li Jieren’s novels.Based on Western theory of spatial storytelling,this chapter exposes the techniques of spatial representation,the construction of spatial meaning and the mode of spatial narration.In terms of spatial representation skills,narrative strategies are developed from three dimensions:scene creation,plot blanking and shelving,and the driving force of plot development.In the construction of spatial sense,it mainly focuses on spatial image selection,application of spatial and multiple perception.Three aspects of perspective replacement are discussed,in terms of spatial storytelling mode,it is mainly based on the content and structural form of the story,and a variety of storytelling techniques are extracted.Finally,it reveals the ideological connotation and value of spatial narrative in Li Jieren’s novels.This chapter is interested in two aspects:one is the connotation of the work,which is expressed mainly in the folk perspective and the historical dimension,and how the"local way"can join the theme of"modern China";the other is the value conveyed by spatial narrative in the novel meaning is embodied in the aesthetic experience and reader acceptance of spatial narrative in the River Trilogy.By analyzing the ideological connotation and the aesthetic connotation of the spatial narrative of the works,the unique value of Li Jieren’s novels in the history of modern literature is shown.To sum up,Li Jieren’s literary creation,which integrates spatial narrative into urban shaping and embeds"modernity narrative"into"local characteristics",has inspired a lot of follow-up works.The spatial representation in the"River Trilogy"has far-reaching significance,and the means of spatial narrative are various.Chengdu,as a container for Li Jieren to express his feelings of life,embodies the author’s simple emotion and realistic experience of Bashu,It also promotes the further development of space narrative in novels. |
