A Report On The Simulated Interpreting For The Keynote Speeches At The Second International Health Industry Forum

With the rapid development of technology and economy,the health industry has gradually become a hot topic.In 2020,with the outbreak of COVID-19 in the world,specialists in the field of medical and healthcare at home and abroad gathered at the Second International Health Industry Forum to discuss the development opportunities of the health industry in the post-epidemic context.The author selects the keynote speeches of five guests at the Second International Health Industry Forum as interpreting material and forms this practice report.First of all,the author introduces the material and the process of simulated consecutive interpreting practice.In the report,guided by Effort Model and combined with specific cases,the author analyzes the difficulties in listening comprehension and the unsatisfactory expression of the target language,and discusses the application of four interpreting skills,namely,information prediction,sense-group division,information reorganization and reasonable simplification.Finally,the author summarizes this practice from the inadequacies and practical experience.The author combines Effort Model with interpreting practice,aiming to learn and master the above four interpreting skills through practice,improve English listening ability and Chinese language proficiency and enhance the quality of interpreting.At the same time,the author hopes to provide reference for future interpreting research in health care.
