Biographies are favored by readers due to their rich content and profound implication, while the research on the translation of biographies is inadequate.Based on four chapters of Tomorrow Will Be A Good Day,this translation practice report aims to analyze the characteristics and translation strategies of biographies.Under the guidance of the communicative translation theory, the translator conducts case analysis from three aspects: vocabulary, syntax and discourse, hoping to convey the author’s true feelings expressed in the biography and achieve the communicative effect.Firstly, the methods of annotating and paraphrasing are adopted to deal with culture-loaded words, and four-character Chinese words structures are used to enhance the literariness of the translation.Secondly, the flexible conversion of sentences is realized by using the approaches of word order adjustment, free translation and division, and the translator concludes three kinds of methods, namely reservation, deletion and conversion,to deal with dashes and brackets.Thirdly, the report analyzes cohesion and coherence in the translation. In view of the difficulties during translating the autobiographical text, the translator adopts different translation strategies, hoping to provide some reference for other translators.
