| Marxism considers that the economic foundation determines the superstructure, and the superstructure is also reactive to the economic foundation. The evolution of slavery in the west and its social and economic development exactly indicate this law, therefore, the problem of inequality in social development brought about by the abolition of slavery has received widespread attention from political economists.Accordingly, the author selects the second chapter “Slave Society: Extreme Inequality” in Capital and Ideology written by Thomas Piketty as the material for this translation practice, which belongs to political and economic text. The excerpts mainly describe that after the abolition of slavery in the West, governments of various countries adopted macroeconomic policies to compensate for the losses of slave owners and exacerbated the unequal distribution of social wealth, which involved a series of unequal compensation measures carried out by the United Kingdom,France and Chile. This report applies the eco-translatology theory proposed by Professor Hu Gengshen, and analyzes how the author flexibly uses the three-dimensional transformation method and the principle of selection and adaption to complete the translation according to the features of the political and economic text. This translation practice report firstly introduces the research object, research method, research content and research significance of translation practice, and describes the translation tasks and translation practice process in detail.Secondly,it expounds Professor Hu Gengshen’s ecotranslatology theory. In the translation process, the author starts from the perspective of threedimensional transformation of eco-translatology studies. In order to achieve the adaptive transformation of different dimensions, the author selects some specific translation methods to complete this translation practice: from the perspective of linguistic dimension, the author adopts omission and conversion to transform the words and voice on the ecology level;from the perspective of cultural dimension, the author chooses transliterate, literal translation and free translation to translate cultural-loaded words and proper nouns so as to transform different cultural content between original text and translated text;from the perspective of communicative dimension, the author uses addition, literal translation and free translation to transform bilingual communicative intentions; Finally, the author summarizes the gains and shortcomings in this translation practice. |
