C-E Translation Of Academic Writing Of Political And Economic Subjects---An Eco-Translatology Perspective

Academic writing of political and economic subjects,different from other kinds of translation,such as literature translation,news translation and so on,often elaborate a topic with coherent logic,accurate content and clear-cut reasoning,which is more convincing and has become an important way for knowledge dissemination.At the same time,the vital role played by translation of academic writing has also been acknowledged.The academic writing of political and economic subjects are characterized by rigorous language,formal expressions,specific terminologies,and some articles even involve hot topics.The conveyance of core meaning and communicative intentions are the prioritized concern with an attempt to reproduce the original style.The emerging eco-translation paradigm of translation studies - Eco-Translatogoly provides a new perspective and direction for translation studies.In recent years,based on the core concept-"Translation as adaption and selection",Eco-Translatology has gained in-depth theoretical research and extensive application in literary translation,subtitle translation,advertising translation,news translation,interpretation and so on.This paper combines academic writing,especially in political and economic subjects,and ecological translation studies,focusing on the translator's selective adaptation and adaptive selection.Based on "three-dimensional transformation",the issue on how to make the adaptation and selection from linguistic dimension,communicative dimension and cultural dimension will be discussed and how to acquire qualified translated version with high "degree of holistic adaptation and selection",in order to reproduce the style of the source text.This study takes the author's translation practice in China Economic Transition as an example,attempting to discuss what further guidance Eco-Translatology provides for the translation of academic writing of political and economic subjects.The author discusses the adaptation and selection from linguistic dimension,communicative dimension and cultural dimension,and the experience and improved methods have been obtained through the analysis of examples and comparative study on the original translation and revised translation.The thesis introduces Eco-Translatology established by Hu Gengshen,including the key concepts and the application of Eco-Translatology in the translation of political and economic academic writing.It is found that the style of the source can be represented through the transformation from linguistic dimension,communicative dimension and cultural dimension,and the express of linguistic information and communicative intention should be paid more attention.It is hoped that this study can provide some reference for the further C-E translation of political and economic academic writings in the priorities of linguistic dimension,communicative dimension and cultural dimension.
