A Study On The C-E Translation Of Cultural Relics Texts From The Three-Dimensional Transformation Perspective

The purpose of this study is to explore the manifestations of three-dimensional transformation in the translation of cultural relics texts.This paper uses the translation project Shaanxi History Museum Calendar 2021 as the research object,and discusses the translator’s adaptive selection transformation of linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions in the translation process.Based on the features of the source text and translation requirements,this paper makes a comparison between the draft version and final version of the target text,and then analyzes the manifestations of three-dimensional transformation in the translation and revision process.A qualitative method is adopted in this study to determine the translator’s utilization of words and sentence patterns.The principal findings of this study are that the translator integrates into a specific translational eco-environment,realizes the flexible transformation at the three dimensions,and achieves the ecological balance and harmony between the source and target language.Firstly,the adaptative selection transformation of linguistic dimension is reflected in the standardization of terminology,the flexibility of language expression and the reorganization of information.Secondly,the adaptative selection transformation of cultural dimension is revealed in the amplification of cultural background information,the omission of cultural-specific information and the analogy of concrete object.Thirdly,the adaptive selection transformation of communicative dimension is manifested in the shift of perspective,the omission of redundant information and the consistency of information in images and text description.This paper provides a new study perspective for future research on the translation of cultural relics,and meanwhile,specific translation methods are proposed to improve the quality of cultural relics translation.
