A Report On E-C Translation Of Tech News Guided By The Cea Framework

From July 4th,2021 to January 4th,2022,the author has been a research intern at the Internet Governance Working Group of CAICT.The author was asked to select and translate the latest news of Internet industry.Forty pieces of news have been translated and the total number of the translated texts is over 100,000 Chinese characters.Hence the author writes this report based on this translation practice.The tech news in this report mainly focuses on latest development of domain name industry,related policy and Internet technology.The source websites are CircleID.com and Domain Incite.com,which provide latest updates of Internet industry.Since Internet has become an indispensable part of the world,its development and security are globally crucial.Websites are tracking and sharing the latest news of it so that institutes,organizations and personage concerned can get convenient access to the leading trend.This report consists of five parts.Chapter One introduces the research background and task description.Chapter Two elaborates on the contents of the"Comprehension,Expression and Adaption" Framework(hereinafter referred to as the CEA Framework).Chapter Three is a literature review on the CEA Framework and Chapter Four conducts case analysis based on translation practice from these three aspects.Chapter Five draws conclusions of the report together with major findings,suggestions and reflections on the translation practice.Through this practice,the author is aware deeply that translation is organic process.Comprehension is the basis of translation,expression is the key to it and adaption is inevitable.These three aspects are integrated and inseparable.Moreover,it is helpful for translators to write translation reports.This report is hoped to provide reference for the translation of tech news.Through reviewing the whole translation process,translators can apply translation strategies efficiently and promote translation skills effectively.Hence,translators can improve the quality of their translated texts.
