| Li Dazhao is regarded as a pioneer of intellectual emancipation.He integrated Marxist philosophical theory into his 20 th century scholarship and,with his unique perspective and way of thinking,contributed greatly to the change of thought and social progress in contemporary China,becoming a driving force in the change of contemporary philosophical thinking.The Revolution of 1911,the New Culture Movement’s early years,and the post-October Revolution saw Li Dazhao’s outlook on traditional culture evolve,not staying static but being constantly augmented and advanced with the evolution of the era.His view of traditional culture can be roughly divided into three distinct eras.Li Dazhao’s view of Chinese culture has important practical significance.It inspires us to insist on arming the nation with new socialist ethics and morals,to practice the core socialist values,to base ourselves on our own culture,to correctly deal with the relationship between Eastern and Western cultures,and also to adhere to scientific theories and accurately grasp the direction of advanced culture.Li Dazhao’s view of Chinese culture has important historical value and contemporary significance.From a historical perspective,its significance is focused on advancing Marxism’s Chinesization and the modern alteration of traditional culture;however,from a realistic perspective,its present value is mainly demonstrated in furnishing theoretical backing and guidance for the advancement of Chinese exceptional traditional culture. |
