Plagiarism In Higher Education: Tackling Tough Topics In Academic Integrity (Chapters 5-6) English-Chinese Translation Practice Repor

Academic integrity is the basic code of conduct for people to adhere to integrity and fairness in academic activities.It is also a common concern of all universities at home and abroad at present.The selected text of this translation practice report is Chapters 5 and 6 of Plagiarism in Higher Education: Tackling Tough Topics in Academic Integrity.These two chapters discuss evaluation and assessment from the perspective of academic integrity and analyze how to deal with the issue of selfplagiarism in the context of higher education.According to the language features of the text,in the part of case analysis,the translator uses repetition,extension and word conversion to analyze the translation of verbs.Then,the translation method of the participle structure is studied,mainly including translating into verb parallel phrase,external sentences and conceiving structure.Finally,at the discourse level,the translator adopts the approaches of reference,connection and sequence adjustment to make the discourse cohesive and coherent.This translation practice report is analyzed from the above perspectives,with a view to providing reference for translation practice of related topics.
