| The continuous expansion of the urban transportation operation network has significantly improved the interconnection level of transportation infrastructure between regions.Rail transit construction and multi-level road traffic networks have put forward corresponding requirements for the communication function of the sign design.Visual guidance is an indispensable part of the sign design, and optimization and upgrading are inevitable. This study takes the development and construction of Chongqing rail transit as the research background, explores the application of the sign design in rail transit, focuses on the new mode of development of the sign design, focuses on solving the problems of visual obstacles and insufficient guidance when users use the sign design, and then proposes optimized design schemes to improve the guidance effect, providing strong support for building a new development pattern of urban rail transit.Based on field research, questionnaire survey, and user interviews, this study selected three stations in Chongqing, namely Xiaoshizi Station,Jiaochangkou Station, and the newly put into use Grand Auditorium Station, which have a large passenger flow, complex road conditions, and a large number of exits. From the perspective of user behavior,it analyzed the application of the sign design in rail transit and found existing problems.Research has found that visual design has many benefits for the development of sign design.First, the sign design is composed of visual elements such as text, graphic symbols, and colors. The country has issued relevant guidance standards, and the visual sign design of rail transit is standardized.Second, the sign design and visual design are evolving interactively and continuously developing.Third, user behavior is linked to the navigation system, helping to identify issues and improve vulnerabilities. In addition, during the investigation of Chongqing’s existing rail transit guidance, some problems were also found: first, the development of the line, and the confusion of information levels;Second, paying less attention to integrating modern technology;Third, poor visual experience, lack of consideration for special groups in existing sign design. In view of the above research results, this article explores sign design that fits user cognition and behavior from the perspective of users and proposes practical strategies: First, decompose user behavior logic, optimize the level of guidance information, and ensure the smoothness of the guidance path.Second, user behavior and visual design are conducted in a dual line and complement each other.Visual elements guide users to complete the operation process.User behavior reacts on the design and combination of visual elements, improving the user’s experience, and formulating a feasible plan for the visual guidance system.Third, build an integrated navigation system.Improve the visual sign design, optimize mobile applications, alleviate the pressure of rail transit operations, enable users to achieve barrier-free identification guidance, shorten the stay time in the station as much as possible, improve the utilization rate of the subway system, and provide passengers with a comfortable, efficient travel experience. |
