This article starts from the perspective of local painting.Through the analysis of Mamma Andersson’s paintings,I will interpret the essential meaning of hometown themed paintings and the inspiration for my creation.Mamma Andersson was born in a small town near the sea in Luleau,a port city in northern Sweden. Most of her paintings are derived from her perception of rural life, and she uses a unique painting language to show the characteristics of Nordic countryside.Different from some domestic realistic paintings with rural themes,Andersson’s paintings not only use concrete expressions. Some elements are also incorporated to make the picture form a kind of image or dreamlike scene. This paper will analyze and discuss the characteristics of Anderson’s painting and the thoughts expressed behind her from three aspects, and come to a conclusion:the focus of rural painting is not the hometown scene itself, but the author’s memory and recall of hometown is to explore his soul and build a picture connecting people.Mamma Andersson’s paintings are transformed from photographs, and the paintings transformed from photographs also construct Anderson’s painting language. This paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter firstly combs the concept of visual expression in rural painting, and then discusses Mamma Andersson’s exploration of the nature of countryside from multiple perspectives such as sociological observation perspective and mapping of social context. The second chapter is the main content of this paper, talking about how Mamma Andersson’s painting creation, through the image library she created, painting themes, time and space and other aspects of Anderson’s painting language. The last chapter takes the artistic painting of Mama Anderson as the object of study, explores how to deal with the picture in painting creation, and explores it in combination with my own creation.
