As a negative workplace emotion,the existence of has a negative impact on both individuals and organizations.As domestic and foreign scholars pay attention to workplace loneliness,theories and applications related to it have become a hot topic of research.The ultimate goal of theoretical research is to apply it to practice,and solving the problems caused by workplace loneliness in workplace is the goal we pursue.This thesis examines the effect of workplace loneliness on interpersonal employee’s helping behavior through the conversation of resource theory and regulatory loop model of loneliness.In conversation of resource theory to understand workplace loneliness,it is essentially the depletion of individual emotional resources.When emotional resources are continuously depleted to a certain degree,a mediating variable introduced in this thesis,emotional drain,will occur,and workplace loneliness,mediated by emotional drain,will lead individuals to reduce interpersonal employee’s helping behaviors.In regulatory loop model of loneliness,workplace loneliness is a state in which individuals’ loneliness gradually increases and gradually moves away from the organization.Here this thesis introduces another mediating variable,motivation to affiliate,a behavioral motivation that wants to establish intimate management with others and trust in others,and it is obtained that workplace loneliness reduces individuals’ interpersonal employee’s helping behavior by weakening the role of motivation to affiliate.The following conclusions were drawn from a study of domestic and international literature,and from three rounds of 228 valid questionnaires submitted by a domestic state-owned enterprise.1.Workplace loneliness is positively associated with emotional drain.2.Emotional drain is negatively related to interpersonal employee’s helping behavior.3.Workplace loneliness weakens interpersonal employee’s helping behaviors by increasing emotional drain.4.Workplace loneliness is negatively related to motivation to affiliate.5.Motivation to affiliate is positively correlated with interpersonal employee’s helping behavior.6.Workplace loneliness weakens interpersonal employee’s helping behavior by decreasing motivation to affiliate.I hoped that this thesis will provide some solutions for companies or individuals to deal with workplace loneliness.
