Translation Report On English News Leads

As an intermediary regulating between off-campus personnel and universities and colleges,news website is essential to publicize critical information or campus decisions and is an effective approach to grind information from off-campus premises.Nowadays,in the era of rapid global economic development,colleges and universities desire to gain recognition by more foreigners and thus enhancing the exchange rates with foreign colleges and universities,to gain concept of advanced pedagogy and methodology in disciplines.Therefore,it is extremely important to operate the English campus websites in colleges and universities.Up to date,most domestic colleges and universities have English news websites.However,the quality is uneven.Based on the elaboration on the translation of campus website of Capital University of Economics and Business,this paper focuses on analyzing the text features of news lead and explains the translation process in detail.Besides,it discusses how to ensure the translation quality under the guidance of cultural turn theory by elaborating on basic elements of the new navigation.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction that demonstrates the significance and the purpose of the translation project.The second part is the introduction of translation projects,which will showcase the translation project in detail.The third part includes literature review and research on news lead and the theory of cultural turn.The fourth part includes the proposed translation strategies and parallel text analysis to locate the differences between English news leads and Chinese news leads,and discussions on the adaption of the news lead under the guidance of cultural turn theory.As for the translation strategies,this paper will analyze from the perspective of "direct lead" proposed by Hu Xin.The fifth part belongs to the summary of the translation project that will summarize the achievements of translation,the prospect of future translation practice,the reflection and problems in translation.
