When individuals are faced with small and far-reaching benefits, they need to make a decision after weighing, which is intertemporal decision-making.In life, from people’s daily diet to national policy-making,people need to make reasonable and even optimal decisions.People often imagine foresight to simulate possible environmental scenarios. The foresight ability can guide individual intertemporal decision-making.This ability enables people to foresee their possible state in the corresponding environment in advance and make preparations in advance, which plays an important role in future planning and decisionmaking.Because these decisions may affect the future development of people and society at different levels.Based on this, this paper introduces the important concept of intertemporal choice, and further explores how intertemporal decision-making is affected by environmental scenario prediction.Three behavioral experiments were designed to explore the possible impact on intertemporal decision-making in an imaginary decision-making environment.Experiment1 explored that self-related information in the imaginary environment may affect intertemporal decision-making.The results showed that subjects preferred delayed reward when imagining the environment related to themselves and their mother, and instant reward when imagining the environment of strangers.Experiment 2 explored the effects of different environmental types on intertemporal decision-making.The results showed that subjects preferred delayed reward when imagining positive and neutral environments, and instant reward when imagining negative environments.Experiment 3 explored that the environment with different degrees of correlation may affect intertemporal decision-making.The results showed that the subjects preferred delayed reward when imagining in high correlation and medium correlation environment, and instant reward when imagining in low correlation environment.Figure5;Table7;Reference 85...
