This translation material is selected from Building Industries at Sea: ’Blue Growth’ and the New Maritime Economy,which is a typical text of Marine economy.This kind of text contains a lot of postpositive attributive components,which is highly professional.Its language expression norms are different from other kinds of text,which will be restricted by the Marine culture and its language norms.Therefore,when translating such texts,the translator takes the three principles of Skopos Theory as guidance,and strives to properly,smoothly and accurately present the texts to the target language readers.In the process of translating this material,the translator has found many postpositive attributive forms,which are of various types and relatively complex structure.Postpositive attributive is a language component in English.There are many differences in the structure of English and Chinese,so translation should take into account the structure of the target language and the language habits of its readers,so as to make the translation conform to the expression norms of Marine economic texts.Therefore,under the guidance of Skopos theory,the translator uses five translation methods,including amplification,omission,division,combination and reverse translation method,to present the original information as completely and accurately as possible,so as to make it conform to the linguistic expression habits of the target language readers.The translation practice report gives the translator a deeper understanding of the characteristics and translation methods of Marine economic texts.According to the guidance of Skopos theory,the translator chooses appropriate translation methods for postpositive attributives in Marine economic texts and does related research.The translator hopes to provide reference for the translation of postpositive attributives in such texts.
