With the vigorous development of China's high-speed rail industry, the exportation of China's high-speed rail has become an important national strategy.Based on the English-Chinese translation of Chapter six to Chapter eight in Evaluating High-speed Rail—Interdisciplinary Perspectives, under the guidance of Nida's functional equivalence theory, this paper focuses on the characteristics of postpositive attributives in informative texts and analyzes the translation strategies adopted by different postpositive attributives so as to provide practical support for the translation studies of texts within related fields.Evaluating High-speed Rail-Interdisciplinary Perspectives is an informative text,in which Chapter six to Chapter eight mainly introduce the accessibility of high-speed rail stations, the environmental performance of high-speed rail and the environmental assessment of high-speed rail.In the process of translation practice,in order to enrich the original information,a large number of different forms of postpositive attributives can be used in the source language, including attributive clause as postpositive attributive,non-predicate verb phrase as postpositive attributive and prepositional phrase as postpositive attributive. Therefore, postpositive attributives translation emerges as a key and also a difficult point in the translation process of informative texts. There are different lengths, different grammatical roles and different implicit semantics in various postpositive attributives,so under the guidance of the theory of functional equivalence, different translation strategies are adopted to translate different postpositive attributives, such as pre-position,division,conversion and linear translation so as to enable the target text "expressive".Through the summary of this practice, specific translation strategies of postpositive attributives in informative texts are generalized, which is beneficial to improve the speed and quality of translation.Furthermore, the translation experiences are provided for the further study of texts about high-speed rail, promoting the exchange and development of knowledge in this field around the world.
