A Study Of Reticulated Narrative In War Films

War films have been flourishing up to now because of the particularity of the subject matter,and also because of the grand and inclusive nature of the subject matter,there are many subtypes derived from the differences in the narrative focus under the war background.This paper mainly aims at the combination of the war films involving grand narrative,diverse themes and numerous characters with the network narrative structure,so as to make experimental innovations in the narrative of war films.Network narrative focuses on multiple clues,multiple protagonists and their connections.The combination of war movies with grand themes and network narrative structure can effectively break through and develop traditional narrative.This paper first analyzes the demand for war narrative innovation by sorting out the narrative development of war films,clarifies the structural model and aesthetic characteristics of network narrative,and defines the narrative strategy and scope suitable for network construction of war films.Then,it analyzes the application and combination theory of the existing network narrative structure in war movies,and finally presents the network structure of the grand war stories through the creation of the script "Saving the Strait",so as to explore the feasibility of the combination of war film narrative and network narrative in practice.
