| Zhao Mengfu and Yang Weizhen were prominent figures in the Yuan calligraphic "retro" trend, and both had a significant impact at the time, but when this trend was applied to them specifically, different interpretations arose. The author divides this paper into four chapters, focusing on the two men’s calligraphic "retro" ideas: first,to clarify their respective biographical experiences and the background of their times;second,to discover the "ancient meaning" and "emotional nature" of Zhao and Yang’s calligraphic "retro" ideas. The second is to discover the difference between "ancient intent" and "sentimentality" in Zhao and Yang’s concept of "retro" calligraphy, and the third is to summarize their respective paths toward "retro" in this "concept".The fourth is to confirm the differences in the paths of Zhao Mengfu and Yang Weizhen. The fourth is to confirm the difference in calligraphic style between Zhao Mengfu and Yang Weizhen by the differences in their paths. The fourth is to confirm the differences between the calligraphic styles of Zhao Mengfu and Yang Weizhen with the differences in their paths, and to guide my own calligraphic philosophy and practice based on these four comparisons,so that I can rationally understand the issues of "tradition" and "innovation" in calligraphy. |
