| "Shuowen Jiezi"（《说文解字》）is the first dictionary in the true sense of China,which is based on the small seal,deeply explores the structure of Chinese characters,traces the original meaning of the characters,and provides us with a new perspective on understanding Chinese characters.After"Shuowen"（《说文》）,along with the evolution of Chinese character fonts and the improvement of the public’s requirements for the practicality of dictionaries,under the background of the era of orthographic views in the Tang Dynasty,"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）with kaishu（楷书）as the prefix and the role of regulating the Chinese characters of Confucian scriptures came into being.These two treatises are of great significance to the development of Chinese philology.Judging from the current research situation of the two character books,the research and analysis of"Shuowen"（《说文》）has been relatively deep,but the academic circles’research on"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）is still relatively weak,and the corresponding research results are still relatively small.Among the existing research results,although some scholars have discussed the similarities and differences between the radical systems of"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）and"Shuowen"（《说文》）,they are not deep enough;In addition,among the existing comparative research results,the specific research on the radicals of"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）and"Shuowen"（《说文》）has not yet been covered.Based on this,this paper uses statistical analysis and comparative studies to take"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）and"Shuowen"（《说文》）as the research object,firstly,the differences between the collection of"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）and"Shuowen"（《说文》）are analyzed,and the reasons for the differences between the two character books are analyzed from the aspects of the background of the writing of the characters,the purpose of compilation,and the principles of word collection,and then the differences in the middle prefix setting and radicals of"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）and"Shuowen"（《说文》）are used as the starting point to discuss the changes made by the radicals of"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）on the basis of the inheritance of the radicals of"Shuowen"（《说文》）.Analyze the radical system of the two character books and the attribution of the same Chinese character within the same radical under this system,so as to provide research ideas for subsequent scholars.This article consists of three parts:introduction,main text,and conclusion.The introduction introduces the reasons for the selection of topics and the significance of the research,sorts out the research status of"Shuowen"（《说文》）and"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）,and expounds the version and research methods of the research objects used in this paper.The main body has three chapters:In the first chapter,the first classification of the new additions in"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）compared to"Shuowen"（《说文》）is classified,outline the reasons for the discrepancy;Then,by comparing the two character books,eight groups of characters that belong to the group of heavy characters in"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）but are different meanings in"Shuowen"（《说文》）are listed,and briefly explain the reasons for the difference in the meanings of the characters.The second chapter compares the radicals listed in"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）and"Shuowen"（《说文》）from the same radical and different radicals,and analyzes the addition or deletion of radicals on the basis of"Shuowen"（《说文》）."Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）added 5 radicals to the 540radicals of"Shuowen"（《说文》）and deleted 385,which shows that Zhang Shen（张参）boldly deleted and merged the radicals of"Shuowen"（《说文》）,because from the small seal to the subordinate book to the Kaishu（楷书）,the historical evolution of the Chinese character from the body is the key to the difference between the radicals listed in the two character books.The third chapter analyzes the characters included in the same radicals of"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）and"Shuowen"（《说文》）.Judging from the words included in the entire book,"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）are more than 6,000 fewer than"Shuowen"（《说文》）,and the distribution of these deleted characters in various parts is uneven,and there are more radicals related to human life;However,it also includes some new words that are not included in"Shuowen"（《说文》）.Due to the subordination and italization of Chinese characters,the overall structure of the character changes,and it is not easy to tell which radical it belongs to;In addition,the editors of different character books have focused on the radical arrangement of the same character,so there will be cases where the same character is divided into different parts in the two character books.The conclusion is divided into two parts,one is to briefly discuss the conclusions reached by the comparison of the main text,that is,the similarities and differences and reasons for the radicals listed in"Wujing Wenzi"（《五经文字》）and"Shuowen"（《说文》）,and the other is to raise deficiencies in the writing of this article and the direction that should be worked on in the future. |
