Mental health literacy refers to the knowledge and beliefs that help individuals recognize,deal with and prevent mental disorders and the ability to maintain and promote mental health through the acquisition,understanding and use of information.As an emerging concept in the field of mental health,mental health literacy has had a certain impact on mental health-related policies internationally.Good mental health literacy helps college students master the relevant knowledge of mental health and improve their ability to solve problems.However,the research on mental health literacy in China is in its infancy,and most of the research is still in the stage of questionnaire exploration and theoretical research.Therefore,the research on mental health literacy in China at this stage not only has certain theoretical and practical significance for educators in China,but also has far-reaching health benefits.This study will study the mental health literacy of college students from the following aspects.TThere are three studies in this study.In the first study,a set of mental health literacy questionnaires suitable for Chinese college students was compiled based on the concept proposed by Jorm and the open questionnaire data.Study 2 investigated the current situation of college students ’ mental health literacy based on the questionnaire of study 1;based on the results of the second study,the third study combined the structure of mental health literacy and the " Ten Mental Health Literacy" issued by the Health and Health Commission to formulate an educational program to intervene in the mental health literacy of freshmen.The results are as follows :(1)The reliability and validity of the ’ College Students ’ Mental Health Literacy Questionnaire ’ are good,and it can be used as a measurement tool to measure the mental health literacy of college students in China.(2)The level of mental health literacy of college students is at a medium level.(3)College students ’ mental health literacy has significant differences in gender,grade and urban and rural areas.(4)The level of mental health literacy of college students receiving educational intervention has been significantly improved.(5)Classroom-based educational intervention has a lasting effect on the improvement of college students ’ mental health literacy.In summary,this study developed a set of college students ’ mental health literacy questionnaire with good reliability and validity,and set up a set of related education programs to significantly improve the level of college students ’ mental health literacy. |
