In the performance process of actors,the use of emotions is an indispensable and important method.Emotion itself has a certain directionality,which serves the theme,character motivation,and highest task of the entire drama.Only by understanding the goal of emotions can we better use them for emotional reference.An actor must carefully prepare before performing,especially by studying the script,analyzing the characters,establishing an emotional tone,and analyzing the emotional change lines of the characters,in order to establish the foundation for emotional experience and pave the way for emotional memory and imagination.This article focuses on the use of emotional reference in performance,starting with the graduation drama "Love a Girl with Your Life".The stages of emotional reference are mainly divided into emotional experience,emotional memory,and emotional imagination.In the emotional experience,actors need to constantly ponder the character’s psychology,empathize with the character,and ultimately achieve the performance state of "I am" the character.This method helps to establish a sense of reality and belief,and also helps to communicate with the audience."Emotional memory" is also known as empathy,or emotional transfer.During the process of shaping characters,actors use the memories and feelings they personally experience in their lives as materials to select the emotional states that match the characters in the play,and use it to shape the characters to accurately experience the emotional states of the characters.Emotional imagination includes the imagination of prescribed situations and the imagination of missing experiences of roles.Due to the gap between the actor and the role,after conducting emotional experience,it is necessary to invoke emotional memory to ensure the authenticity of emotions,and at the same time,it is necessary to supplement and improve emotional imagination.In the process of emotional imagination,it is necessary to study the development process of the character and determine the emotional logic of the character,so as to make the character’s emotions more complete.Emotional experience,emotional memory,and emotional imagination constitute a process of emotional reference.The integration of the three makes the character’s emotions more authentic and reasonable,and successfully plays a "stone from another mountain,which can be used to attack jade" artistic effect."To Die and Love a Girl" is an urban love light comedy,which is close to the psychology of contemporary urban young audiences.The author used the performance method of emotional reference to portray the character Sizhang.Through the integration and application of emotional experience,emotional memory,and emotional imagination,they are finally presented on the stage through emotional performance.The first half of the article analyzes and discusses the concepts of emotional experience,emotional memory,and emotional imagination,as well as the relationship between emotional reference.The second half summarizes the practical application of emotional reference in performance through the summary of performance practice.In the graduation show,the author combines theory with practice,The method of emotional reference has been effectively tested,and good performance results have been achieved.
