Research On The Time View In Western Novels Of The 21st Century

Since the 21st century,changes in the social living environment have brought new time experiences to people.These time experiences are closely related to human survival and current situation,and are worth studying and discussing.Because of its inclusive nature,the novel is both influenced by contemporary theoretical studies of time and expresses a personal sense of time.Represented as a reflection on the philosophical concept of time for human survival.The paper will develop the study in three chapters.The first chapter summarizes the concept of time within the scope of science and philosophy.Analyzing the concept of time in literature is very diverse.The second chapter selects Museum of Innocence,Flights,Zero K,and these three novels as the research objects,and analyzes people’s sense of time since the21 st century.People feel that history has dissipated,time is accelerating and breaking,and the future is even more uncertain.The third chapter introduces the historical background of the21 st century.Modern transportation,mobile internet,bio genetic and other technologies have changed the way people view time,making it integrated and time disconnected.Therefore,the writer represents personal time in the novel,disapproves of integrated time,and opposes the rationalist concept of time.The novel uses the story of collected objects to preserve the past and history.The writer compares time to a cluster of stars so that time no longer breaks.The writer reflects on a future manipulated by technology and understands death and the end of time in terms of the wholeness of existence.It is believed that life time has a historical and complete nature and emphasis on the temporal nature of people.Believes that human existence has meaning and value.The above three chapters together form the main body of this thesis.It was at the end of the 20th century that phenomena such as economic and political globalization really began.In the 21 st century,the impact of globalization has become even greater.The compression of geographic space has made the experience of time universal.The common experience of time expresses the dilemmas and problems of contemporary existence.These issues deserve to be studied.This is the reason why this thesis has chosen the21st century as the subject of study.
