The IP-based Development Model Of Detective Novel In The Perspective Of Transmedia Storytelling

In recent years,works on detective reasoning and other themes have spread and become popular in books,film and television,games and other multi-media platforms,with their unique narrative style and charm,classic character image shaping,has become an indispensable color in the current popular culture.Based on this,this article will stand in the perspective of cross-media narrative,combined with Ryan’s story world theory,and explore the whole process of the well-known detective character Sherlock Holmes from its birth to the present,gradually developing into a classic IP.Starting from the text of Sherlock Holmes’ s novel,this paper sorts out its narrative presentation on different media platforms with the help of cross-media intertextuality,and examines the detective story world that it has continuously constructed with the participation of creators,commercial producers,developers,and audiences,and the Sherlock Holmes IP industry system formed in this process.It conducts in-depth research on the performance,characteristics and multiple influences of audience participation behavior in the development of Sherlock Holmes IP,so as to emphasize the role of audience in the IP industry.It will jump out of the research scope of a single IP industry,and consider the internal dynamics of current IP development from a deeper narrative logic with the help of the theory of cross-media narrative and story world.The creation of multi-narrative and multi-IP condensed in the macro story world of Sherlock Holmes is analyzed in detail,and how the external thrust of IP-based acts on the expansion and extension of the story world is explored by case studies.Finally,combined with the current development of narratives such as detective reasoning in China,this paper extracts and summarizes the reference experience of the whole process of Sherlock Holmes IP,as well as localized innovation,in order to provide practical methods and suggestions for the development of China’s current cultural industry based on narrative content such as detective reasoning,help all parties in the industry to develop,build and operate relevant IP industry systems,and realize the continuous landing and distribution of multicultural products.
