In contemporary art,the body is a subject of great concern. The occurrence of this concern cannot be separated from the thinking of the body in modern philosophy and semiotics. In Baudrillard’s view, the body is a symbolic system shaped by society and culture, and is "the most beautiful consumer product.".With the diversification of media, the proliferation of replicated images, and the atomization of information reception, people’s visual habits and behavior have undergone significant changes. In this context, artists who take the body as their creative motif are either actively or passively involved in the wave of symbolization.Based on European semiotics and Baudrillard’s symbolic body symbolic consumption theory, this article studies contemporary art with the body as its motif, taking contemporary time and space as the boundary. The text is divided into two parts: theoretical discussion and practical research. The theoretical discussion section briefly introduces Baudrillard’s semiotic(anti semiotic)thinking, and explores the widespread impact of Baudrillard’s symbolic consumption theory in contemporary art, including the disappearance of artistic halo, commercialization and symbolization of art,the blurring of the boundary between art and non-art,and the proliferation of image reproduction.Based on theoretical research,it analyzes the behavior of the body, the metaphor of symbols, and the transmission of ideas in artistic works. From the perspective of symbolism and anti-symbolism,this paper studies the forms of body use, artistic practices, and artistic creation concepts in contemporary art works.Conduct research on body metaphors, body fragmentation/localization phenomena, and ready-made body objects in art,and analyze how artists use impactful body symbols to skillfully utilize their metaphorical functions to convey cultural awareness, emotions,or personal ideas. The body images in some contemporary art works are complex, specific, and authentic, and cannot be considered as a simple symbol or symbol.Through an anti-symbolic perspective, this article analyzes the creative methods of such artists to re-examine the body image in contemporary art.In the graduation project, the body image in the current media is disassembled based on semiotic theory.Using semiotic theory, this paper explores the body imagination and aesthetic gaze factors behind the image of a woman taking a bath.Based on this, the selection of creative materials and the design of body posture are carried out.Using the symbolic referential attributes of ready-made products to inject metaphorical layers into the work.Design internal and external viewing structures in the device space, analyze the silence and gaze mechanism behind the "see" behavior, and highlight the audience’s "see" behavior.Through the involvement of the audience’s body, the final stage of this conceptual art work is completed, triggering the audience’s philosophical thinking about the body.
