Research On The Crisis Of Trust In Risk Society

The German sociologist Ulrich Beck put forward the concept of "risk society",in his view,the continuous advancement of modernization on the one hand creates opportunities for the free development of individuals,on the other hand,it also makes the society as a whole move towards a high degree of complexity and uncertainty,especially in the socio-economic and socio-cultural crises.In his critique of the political economy of capitalist society,Marx pointed out that under the conditions of private ownership,capitalist society faces basic contradictions that are difficult to resolve.However,in the late capitalist society,this basic contradiction did not trigger the social revolution pointed out by Marx,and the capitalist state transferred the economic crisis to the administrative system through administrative means,setting up institutional forms such as the welfare state,in an attempt to resolve the contradictions that could not be resolved within the economic system.In order to keep the economic crisis under control,the administrative system can only continuously draw value resources from the cultural system to ensure that it can maintain its legitimacy by guaranteeing popular loyalty while transforming economic contradictions.However,the pace of production of the cultural system itself has never been able to keep pace with the demand for capital expansion.Therefore,the basic contradictions of late capitalist society will inevitably take the form of crises within the cultural system.This paper attempts to analyze the existence form and root causes of trust crisis in risk society from the perspective of the overall social system,and find the solution to the root cause of trust crisis in risk society by tracing the source of this problem,That is: Through the improvement of the legal system,the two main forms of risk social trust crisis can be effectively alleviated.In this regard,this paper will make the following combing: First,we will examine the main types of trust,explore how the trust model of modernity brings more general risks while adapting to a larger range of interactions.Secondly,this paper places the issue of trust in the context of modernity,takes the process of individualization as the starting point,and makes a specific investigation of the trust crisis at a special level.In this process,it is clarified that the root cause of the trust crisis in the risk society lies in the individualization trend brought about by the modernization process,and the resulting change in the trust model,that is,the basis of the certainty of the trust relationship has shifted from the original familiarity with the object of trust to the self-identification of the trust subject.Finally,the trust problem is regarded as an important content in the social and cultural field,placed in the overall social system for examination,and believes that the crisis of trust at the universal level presents a fundamental similarity with the problem of legitimacy,and both are presented in the form of value identity.On this basis,this paper finally describes the path of trust crisis in risk society as follows: First,in the process of changing the trust model,as an inevitable consequence of modernity,it is presented in the form of a crisis of personal identity.Second,in the social system of late capitalism,as a question of legitimacy,it is presented in the form of a crisis of value identity.On the basis of the above,this paper attempts to find a way to manage the risk social trust crisis,that is,through the improvement of the legal system,starting from the appearance of personal identity and value identity problems,and finally realizing the governance of trust crisis at the theoretical,institutional and technical levels.Through the study of the above contents,this paper will reflect its significance in the following two aspects: First,on the basis of the previous research results on trust issues,the special features of trust crisis in the risk society are discussed in detail,and the hidden dangers of crisis in the process of changing the trust model are pointed out.Secondly,the issue of trust is discussed within the framework of the overall social system,the source of the trust crisis is clarified from the root cause,and a realistic governance plan is proposed.
