Art songs have an important position in vocal performance and teaching,among which Britsh art songs have high artistic value for their simple harmony and tunes,subtle and natural expression of emotions,emphasis on maintaining poetic rhythm and a strong flavor of English folk songs.Benjamin Britten is regarded as the great composer who revived English music after Henry Purcell,and he has made outstanding contributions to the composition of vocal genres.The song cycle Winter Words is an important masterpiece in Britten’s art song composing field,which uses a lot of 20 th century composing techniques on the basis of listenability,incorporates obvious Purcell-style art song composing techniques,and closely fits the text,and has high singing value and research value.This paper takes the poetic imagery of Winter Words as the starting point,and explores the deeper connotation of the poem by analyzing the content and imagery of the text;explores the musicalization of the imagery through the background of composition and text interpretation;explores the key points of singing the work by understanding the text and music of the work,combining the interpretation of poetry and imagery,and explores the difficulties and characteristics of singing in the work by combining the compositional techniques. |
