Animal vocabulary have always been closely related to human development and contain rich metaphorical connotations.These animal vocabulary metaphors reflect Chinese’s unique way of thinking and cognitive habits.The use of metaphors to study animal vocabulary in Chinese is conducive to helping Chinese learners express their language more authentically,improve their self-confidence,and teachers are more oriented when teaching.Through literature review and statistical analysis,this paper analyzes the mapping characteristics of "horse" "chicken" "cow" "dragon" and "fish",discusses the essence of cognitive metaphors of animal vocabulary.This paper investigated the learning of animal vocabulary metaphors and the lack of animal vocabulary metaphors teaching by intermediate and advanced Chinese learners,and found that the main motivation of students to learn Chinese is to understand Chinese culture and study in China.Students lack initiative and interaction in learning,and when learning animal vocabulary metaphors,they often only passively accept the teacher’s explanation,and the teacher teaches animal vocabulary in a single way.In addition,the use of animal vocabulary metaphors in Chinese learners is analyzed,and the causes of bias are discussed,including the complexity of animal vocabulary metaphors,the shortcomings of teaching materials and teaching,and the negative migration of mother tongue culture.Through the teaching practice of animal vocabulary,it is found that there are deficiencies such as insufficient student participation and cultural cognitive bias in teaching,and an animal vocabulary teaching method is proposed in order to provide a reference for animal vocabulary teaching. |
