The Uigur human trafficking documents is an important part of the extant Uigur socio-economic history,it is also a key historical source of our understanding of the social situation of Uigur.Although the study of relevant instruments has been relatively mature, there are still many unclear statements in the particulars and the necessity for further research.Starting from the original texts,we use philological methods to reinterpret the 12 documents on the basic of previous studies, providing new transliterations, transcriptions and translations, and offering new insights into the areas of disagreement in previous studies. On this basis,we use statistical methods to analyze the physical characteristics, which including paper, script, seals, and linguistic characteristics, which including format, register, language,of the documents from a bibliographic perspective, and to summarize the basic characteristics of the Uigur human trafficking documents. Finally, combined with historical background and multilingual documents,we comprehensively investigated the political, economic, cultural and other information contained in these documents: through the rare register in these documents,we can see the complex relationship between the Qo(?)o Kingdom,Yuan Dynasty and Chagatai Khanate;combined with the expressions of quanbu or cotton money with other contract documents,we can outline the rise and fall of the Qo(?)o Kingdom offical currency;according to the name data in the document,we can observe the multi-ethnic formation of Uigur society. As an active force in the trade between East and West in ancient times, the Uigurs directly shaped the history of the Silk Road and Sino-foreign exchanges with the late Tang Dynasty to the late Yuan Dyansty to a large extent.Through the Uigur human trafficking documents,we can more intuitively analyze the composition and operation of the Uigur society.
