Hunan is the hometown of Chinese ceramics,porcelain making has a long history,especially in the Tang and Five Dynasties,Hunan porcelain making industry more prosperous.This paper takes the porcelain unearthed from the tombs of the Tang and Five Dynasties in Hunan as the research object.Firstly,the tombs of the Tang and Five Dynasties in Hunan are collected and sorted out.Secondly,the total number of porcelain unearthed in each tomb is counted.According to statistics,the porcelains unearthed from the tombs of the Tang and Five Dynasties in Hunan can be divided into green glazed porcelain,white glazed porcelain,yellow glazed porcelain,yellow green glazed porcelain,yellow brown glazed porcelain,brown glazed porcelain,glazed green glazed porcelain and unglazed porcelain according to their glaze color.Combined with the briefing of burial excavation,this batch of porcelain materials were classified into types by using typology,and then according to the accurate age provided by the chronological tomb,this batch of porcelain was divided into the early Tang Dynasty,the prosperous Tang Dynasty,the Middle Tang Dynasty and the Late Tang Dynasty,five dynasties and four periods.After comprehensive typology analysis and periodization of unearthed porcelain,we can get the pottery and its characteristics of each period,and master the changing trend of this batch of porcelain materials in the Tang and Five Dynasties more comprehensively.Firstly,the kiln mouth analysis of this batch of porcelain was carried out.Combined with the excavation briefing,the comparison with the unearthed porcelain in different regions of the same period,the comparison with the unearthed porcelain at the kiln site,and the existing research of scholars,it was found that the kiln mouth of this batch of materials was roughly Yuezhou kiln in Hunan province,Changsha kiln in Hunan Province,Hengzhou kiln in Hunan Province,Dingyao kiln in Hebei Province,and the style white porcelain in Liao region.In the first phase,celadon produced by Yuezhou kiln was the main product,indicating that Yuezhou Kiln was in its heyday.In the second phase,Changsha kiln began to rise,but did not form a unique style of Changsha kiln.In the third and fourth phases,celadon quantity declined rapidly while white porcelain quantity increased.It is speculated that the reason was the decline of Yuezhou kilns and the frequent cultural exchanges between the north and the south after the "An-Shi Rebellion",a large number of northern white porcelain was introduced into Hunan,and a large number of people moved south,bringing new technology and labor force to Hunan kiln industry,which made Hunan kiln industry develop rapidly and formed its own unique style in the later period of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms.Finally,two case studies of this batch of porcelain materials are carried out,which reflects the uniqueness and cultural style of Hunan porcelain at that time. |
