Vocabulary is the foundation of a language,and vocabulary teaching has always been the foundation and an important part of Chinese teaching.Modern Chinese vocabulary system is very large,the use of words are different,teachers need to choose the appropriate teaching methods according to the specific characteristics of words.Semantic transparency is a vocabulary theory recognized by most scholars,which can provide certain reference value for vocabulary teaching.The semantic transparency of a word can reflect the semantic transparency of a word,that is,semantic transparency can reflect the relationship between the internal morpheme and the whole meaning of a word,and semantic transparency will affect learners’ processing and understanding of the word.Generally speaking,words with high semantic transparency are easier for Chinese learners to process and understand,while words with low semantic transparency are not conducive to Chinese learners’ inference the meaning of the Word.This paper selects 1620 advanced disyllable compound nouns in Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards For International Chinese Education as the research object.Firstly,it introduces the relevant basic theories,analyzes the factors that may affect semantic transparency and gives a brief example analysis.Among them,morpheme is the most important factor.It includes the polysemy of morpheme,the degree of morpheme expression,the recurrence frequency of morpheme,the nature of morpheme and the word-forming ability of morpheme.Next,the semantic transparency theory is used to classify the target words into four levels: complete transparency,relatively transparent,relatively obscure and completely obscure.It was found that the number of transparent words accounted for the largest proportion,followed by completely transparent and relatively obscure words,and the number of completely obscure words accounted for the smallest proportion.Finally,based on the correlation analysis above,specific teaching suggestions for words with different semantic transparency are given.There are a large number of words with high semantic transparency,and the importance of morpheme is self-evident.Using morpheme teaching to help learners build a morpheme meaning database is easier to expanding vocabulary and improving the efficiency of vocabulary learning.The number of words with low semantic transparency is small,which requires teachers’ correct guidance,handling the relationship between morpheme teaching and word-based teaching,and training learners to master certain anti-transparency strategies. |
