A Study Of Painted Wooden Coffin Painting In Qinghai From The Northern Dynasty To The Tang Dynasty

The painted wooden coffins from the Northern Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty discovered in the Qinghai region are unique burial tools with regional and ethnic characteristics.This article uses the currently discovered images of painted wooden coffins in the Qinghai region from the Northern Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty as the material,combined with previous research results,to interpret the content of these painted wooden coffins,classify their image themes,and summarize the characteristics of some of the theme images.On the basis of image classification,this article combines relevant images from other time and space to discuss the image origins of the banquet,travel,four gods,and zodiac signs of the painted wooden coffin board paintings in the Qinghai region from the Northern Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty.It is believed that despite the influence of other tomb paintings,these images on the painted wooden coffin board paintings still have certain historical and regional characteristics.Subsequently,the iconographic significance of banquet and travel maps on painted wooden coffins was analyzed.We will also explore the image themes with ethnic and folk characteristics,such as mourning pictures,welcoming horses pictures,shooting ghosts pictures,and joy pictures,in order to explore the ideas contained in the painted wooden coffin board painting images.Finally,summarize the cultural factors reflected in the painted wooden coffin paintings in the Qinghai region from the Northern Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty,and discuss the cultural exchange between the East and the West reflected in the image details of the painted wooden coffin paintings,based on the cultural exchange of the Qinghai Road on the Silk Road.
