Based on the research results in hand, and also combined with the archaeology, the relative literature information as well as the special meaning of the tomb space, this dissertation analysis the main content and the characteristic of the art style for the three wooden coffin fpictures. The dissertation studies the embody meanings and the carried ideal religion of those figures along with the overall analysis on the representation structure for the GuYuan painting coffin figures. The overall painting coffin exhibits how the master's soul can be immortal and the assistant of such purpose. After analyzing those pictures, the dissertation concludes that the content of the theme and the art style of these three wooden coffin figures do not abandon the traditional figures since the Han Dynasty which give the priority to the traditional central plain style figures and some style from Serbi as well as some elements from the abroad arts, all these have the distinct epoch characteristic. At the same time, combined with the recovered funeral fine arts material from the Wei Jin period, the subject matter and the derivation relationship with the Persia fine arts, the mural painting on the tomb of the Wei Jin period in the west of the Yellow Reiver and the Koguryo tomb mural paintings are studied. Finally, based on these three wooden coffin figures, the dissertation discusses the culture preference of the dominator of the North Wei in the Pingcheng Period together with the influence on the fine arts for the funerals culture from such preference. In conclusion, the discover of these three wooden coffin figures provides important reference materials for us to deeper research on the funeral fine arts of the North Wei in the Pingcheng Period.
