Since its birth, film and television art has been closely related to literature, both of which are the art of narrating stories. The Tibetan literary works created by Zhaxi Dawa and Wanma Caidan not only have no gap of time and age in the story background, but also have certain literary connotation and cultural value.Film and television adaptation of literature can not only effectively spread ethnic culture, but also effectively improve the influence of the author. From the point of view of narration, the essential difference between film and novel lies in the difference of media, which makes them different in the way of narration to some extent. However,"story" connects them closely and makes the adaptation and conversion between them possible. Therefore,in the process of film adaptation of Tibetan literary works, the characteristics of Tibetan literary works, adaptation methods, narrative strategies, the application of ethnic symbols, popular culture and other aspects of adaptation problems also arise.Although the text has certain adaptability in the film,in the rapidly developing era of new media mass culture, only enriching the literary accomplishment of writers and improving the cultural cultivation of literary works can be a sustainable adaptation strategy of literary works in the film narrative adaptation. This paper is divided into five parts: the first part is the introduction, which mainly describes the research background, research status at home and abroad, research significance, research ideas and methods. The first chapter summarizes the research on the relationship between novel and film and its narratology from the perspective of narratology, and summarizes the definition of the two and the corresponding narrative theory. The second chapter reviews the development and current situation of film adaptation theory in China and abroad, and summarizes the cultural characteristics of Tibetan literary works created by Tashi Dawa and Wan Ma Caidan. These features have a significant impact on the process of adaptation from novels to films, and are also the differences between other literary works, which is one of the main reasons why this paper chooses Tibetan literary works as the study text. Finally, this paper analyzes the adaptation mode of the Tibetan literary works and successfully adapted films created by the two men, which is one of the important factors for the success of adapted works. The third chapter is the main part of this paper, analyzing the changes of the text in the process of adaptation. The first is to present the multiangle conversion from text to film from both the narrator and the narrative perspective. The second is to convey the traditional ethnic culture and the theme of human life. The third is the analysis of the adaptation of the plot, the diversification of processing. The fourth is from the character image, character character, character number increase or decrease,to reflect the text character to the film character multiple changes. The fourth chapter, following the third chapter, focuses on the application of ethnic cultural symbols and the influence of ethnic culture on Tibetan literary works in film adaptation,as well as the difficulties faced in film adaptation and solutions. The last part is the conclusion part, which is a summary of the full text.
