A Study On The Humanistic Connotation Of Village Names In Luqu County

The place name is the product of a certain historical period of a place and is the most distinctive cultural mark of a place.Luqu has a long history,and many village names left over from ancient times have been used until now.These place names have witnessed the historical development course of Luqu,which is an important historical and cultural heritage of the region and an inseparable part of the local culture,highlighting the rich historical and cultural connotation.The study of the place names of Luqu villages is of great historical significance and practical value in understanding the local topography,geographical location,natural resources,folk customs,history and culture,language and taboos,as well as the basic social organization structure.Through the combination of literature research and field investigation of village names in Luqu County,this paper studies village names in Luqu County from five chapters: general situation of Luqu County,formation and distribution characteristics of village names in Luqu County,cultural connotation contained in village names in Luqu County,prominent characteristics of village names in Luqu County,management status of village names in Luqu County and measures of place names standardization.The first part,relying on literature and field research,expounds the origin and meaning of the place name of "Luqu",at the same time,sorts out and introduces the natural environment of Luqu County and the process of social and historical changes in different periods.The second part defines the geographical scope of villages in Luqu County.Through the research on the origin,meaning and historical background of village place names,combined with field investigation and consultation of people from all walks of life,the scientific classification of village place names is carried out by using text narration and modern map method.In order to display the historical genes,spatial characteristics and cultural texture of the geographical names of Luqu villages visually,GIS technology is used to draw the distribution maps of various geographical names.The third part reveals the cultural connotation of place names in Luqu County from the aspects of the origin of place names in Luqu County,the relationship between natural environment and social culture,the social and cultural psychology of place names and namers,the relationship between place names and agriculture and animal husbandry,the relationship between place names and clans,the relationship between place names and beliefs,and the relationship between place names and ethnic integration.The fourth part,through the naming and distribution characteristics of place names,sums up the prominent characteristics of place names culture in Luqu County.The fifth part summarizes the status quo and existing problems of the management of village names in Luqu County,and puts forward several suggestions on the standardization of place names in the next step to better serve the development of local economy and society.
