Distributive justice is one of the themes of contemporary western philosophy, that is,how to allocate social resources can be called justice. As a representative figure in the analysis of Marxism, facing the new changes in the development of capitalism and the new challenges of liberalism to socialism,Cohen resolutely turned to the study of issues related to distributive justice.Cohen tried to defend Marxism and socialism from the perspective of political philosophy, put forward the conclusion that socialism is desirable and feasible, vigorously fought back the threat of liberalism to socialism, and constructed his own principle and system of distributive justice.Cohen’s distributive justice principle and system is formed on the basis of reflecting on the argument about justice between Nozick and Rawls.Cohen criticizes Nozick’s attempt to replace distributive justice with holding justice and the deep inequality supported by Rawls’ s theory of justice, and tries to demonstrate the proposition of egalitarianism on this basis: in a society where distributive justice is dominant, people expect to be generally equal in material terms. The three parts of luck egalitarianism principle, equality principle and sharing principle, and equal moral fashion are interrelated, which constitute Cohen’s distributive justice system with equality as connotation, and Cohen proves that socialism is not only desirable but also feasible.Although Cohen’s thought of distributive justice has a utopian color,it has caused a lot of controversy in the academic circle, but it still has important reference significance.Cohen’s theory tries to defend the desirability and feasibility of socialism. His firm belief in socialism and the ideal pursuit of egalitarian distributive justice are worthy of our respect. At the same time,he also inspires more people to actively devote themselves to the cause of socialism and has a positive practical impact.
