Today’s world is becoming smaller and smaller, and exchanges between countries are becoming more and more frequent, and in the post-epidemic era, people are paying more attention to their health.Based on this, the translator tries to choose Glucose Revolution as his translation practice text, hoping to help popularize health knowledge and make people pay attention to their physical conditions. The book introduces the importance and impact of glucose, the main energy supplier for the body, and analyzes the harmful effects of high blood glucose on the human body.In the book, the author also provides her own insights and informs some easy-to-follow life hacks that can alleviate related diseases, and the book tends to be an informative text, mainly for the purpose of conveying the content itself, hoping to help people live a better life. The translator finds that the Functional Equivalence Theory, proposed by the famous American linguist Nida, also emphasizes the transmission of information content much more than formal equivalence.Meanwhile, the Theory also believes that a good translation should bring the target language readers the same reading experience as the source language readers. The translator then tried to analyze the original work from lexical equivalence, syntactic equivalence and textual equivalence, using Functional Equivalence Theory as a guide, and finally completed the translation practice and wrote the report. The translation strategies and skills involved include conversion of part of speech, free translation of words, conversion of order, conversion of voice, addition and omission.Through the translation practice, the translator improves his professional abilities, strengthens his professional skills, and has a deeper insight into the field of translation, and at the same time,by linking theory to reality, the translator can apply what he learned from books into practice and truly realize the application of knowledge. Finally, the translator also hopes that his translation can bring some reference value to the translation work of other translators.
