A Report On The Simulated Simultaneous Interpreting Of Great Power Ⅱ Under The Guidance Of The Interpretive Theory

The simulated Chinese-English simultaneous interpretation material is from a documentary the second season of Great Power co-produced by China Central Television and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.The documentary presents historical process of innovation and development of China’s equipment manufacturing from a unique and stunning perspective.There are eight episodes in total.The interpreter chooses the second episode Launch China and the fifth episode Layout of the Ocean as simulated simultaneous interpretation material.It involves a large number of professional knowledge,proper nouns,numbers and comments of different technical experts,which would increase some difficulty in the simulated simultaneous interpreting.The report is under guidance of the Interpretive Theory.Three stages of the theory—comprehension,breaking away from language shell of the original and re-expression,and the Triangular Model is theoretical framework.In the process of interpreting,the interpreter combines the Interpretive Theory with practice and makes an analysis of some examples in simulated simultaneous interpretation.At the same time,the interpreter adopts some useful interpretation methods such as addition,omission,conversion and paraphrase.Through the simulated simultaneous interpretation practice,the interpreter has gained relevant interpretation experience to some extent and has acquired a better understanding of documentary interpretation through the combination of the Interpretive Theory and interpreting practice.Moreover,the interpreter would thoroughly study theoretical knowledge and actively participate in interpretation practice.Finally,the interpreter hopes that the practice report can provide some reference for practitioners and researchers of interpreting in documentary interpretation.
