This project involves the interpretation of the speeches of Mo Yan in the Swedish Academy, who is the winner of the2012Nobel Prize of Literature. The first is his speech at the press conference of the Nobel Prize of Literature and the other is his speech on winning this prize, which falls in the category of narrative speech. With strong literariness and implicit information, Mo Yan covered various topics and stories in his speeches. The interpreter found two main difficulties:(1) difficulties in the interpretation of certain modifiers;(2) difficulties in the interpretation of implicit information. This report is based on the interpretative theory, which stresses the equivalence of translation. The interpreter put forward corresponding methods to resolve the above difficulties:(1) with regard to the interpretation of modifiers, interpretative simplification, interpretative interpretation, and interpretative adjustment shall be applied;(2) for the interpretation of implicit information, interpretative linearity and interpretative amplification shall be employed.Under the guidance of the interpretive theory, the interpreter proves the feasible application of these interpretation methods improves the quality of this simulated simultaneous interpretation after certain conscious practice. The experience drawn from this research is expected to shed light on interpretation in similar contexts.
