| This report is based on an English-Chinese translation practice.The source language is selected from the book Personal Development for Smart People.The book is divided into two parts: the first part introduces seven generally applicable principles in life;the second part is the practical application of these principles in life,is a very systematic personal growth guide.Through the plain description,the writer integrates different ideas into simple guiding and practical opinions.In China,few research on the translation of personal growth guidance books have been conducted,and the translation research on vocative texts mainly focuses on public words,advertisements,and the content is limited.Firstly,the author analyzes the characteristics of the original text,and summarizes the difficulties encountered in the translation practice,such as the lack of background information,long sentences,subheadings and so on.In order to solve the above difficulties,the author adopts translation methods such as adding notes,adjusting word order,using Chinese four-character phrases and adding category words.Through the translation practice,the author summarizes that the vocative text aims to persuade readers to take action,so the translator must first analyzes and understands the source text,and then according to the corresponding theoretical guidance to take appropriate translation method to ensure readers understand the meaning and improve the acceptability of translation. |
