An Analysis Of Max Scheler’s Value Theory

Max Scheler is one of the famous German philosophers in the early 20 th century.His genius insight,profound consciousness of The Times and humanistic care with personal characteristics make his philosophical thoughts vast and profound.Among them,based on the criticism of Kant’s formalist ethics,he opened up an absolute and emotional path of value theory by combining the idea of Christian love,neo-Kantian value philosophy and life philosophy with Husserl’s phenomenological method,and filled in a strong mark for the history of modern Western ethics.This paper tries to start from the Angle of Scheler’s value and value order,and concretely analyzes the elaboration of his love concept in the field of value,so as to fully explore and grasp Scheler’s axiology thought.This paper will be discussed from the following four parts:Firstly,the origin of Scheler’s axiology is introduced.Scheler’s axiology is derived from the idea of Christian love,and draws on the phenomenological methodology of Husserl,as well as the thought resources of the philosophy of life under the New Kantianism.These theories and views have given Scheler’s axiology the most primitive ideological foundation and theoretical source.Secondly,it focuses on the main ideological content of Scheler’s axiology.This paper mainly expounds from two aspects of value and value order: firstly,it explores and discusses the essential connotation,value characteristics and value pattern of value in detail,and then further explores Scheler’s objective value order concept in such value thought,and explores the basis for the formation of such value order.Again,it mainly analyzes how to develop the value phenomenon of love as the essence of human existence under the view of Scheler’s axiology.There is no doubt that love is very important in Scheler’s mind.In Scheler’s axiology,love is the essence of human existence,and the activities between human and the world are also completed under the premise of love,and the relationship between human and the world is a value relationship.In the same way,there is an objective value order in love,the order of love.The order of love is the core of the order of all life and individuals,determines the fate of people’s life,and is also the value structure of people to make all the value choices under the fate.Such a love as the point of value relationship,value structure and value order analysis can be very intuitive for us to understand Scheler’s theory of value to provide help.Finally,the significance of Scheler’s theory of value is analyzed from its theoretical significance and contemporary value.In the history of European ethics,the axiology of Scheler’s material occupies an important place,which is one of the few ethics in western philosophy that tries to find the order of value in human heart.He combines the basis of ethics with the specific problems of The Times,so as to explore and try to improve the existence of human in the era of capitalism is undoubtedly bold and profound.Max Scheler’s thinking on value theory is the most profound expression of the social and historical crisis in Europe at that time.His philosophy not only belongs to Europe,but also is a treasure of the whole human society.In today’s China,Scheler’s thinking on value can also provide us with an important perspective and profound ideological resources to examine and reflect on modern social problems.
