| Innovation is the source and driving force of social development.The Fifth Plenary Session of the 18 th CPC Central Committee put forward the "five development concepts" of innovation,coordination,green development,opening up and sharing,giving priority to innovation.Innovation occupies an important place in social development,so how to enhance the innovation ability,train creative talents for our country becomes a very important issue.In the past,there have been many researches on the factors influencing Creativity,among which color is a very convenient control factor.At present,previous researches on the relationship between color and creativity are limited and the research results are controversial.Further research on the influence of color on creativity and make full use of the influence effect of color to promote creativity.Training innovative talents is of great significance for our country.Creativity refers to the characteristic or ability to provide new and unique products with social value.The core of creativity is Creative Thinking.Color is a kind of light wave that stimulates the human eye to form a subjective feeling.Color has three basic characteristics: hue(hue),brightness(brightness)and saturation(purity).In previous studies on factors affecting creativity,relatively few researches on color were involved,and red and blue were the main ones.Most studies support that blue is related to approach motivation,which is conducive to solving creative tasks.Red is associated with avoidance motivation and is more conducive to the processing of detailed tasks.Previous studies on color and creativity mostly focused on the impact of a single color on the completion of creative tasks.Combined with the studies on color in advertising,advertising pays more attention to the impact of color collocation on vision.Complementary colors can bring greater visual stimulation through the comparison of two colors at the same time,and neighboring colors can give people a more harmonious and calm feeling.So in creative studies,does presenting two colors at the same time have a different effect on creative outcomes than a single color? Therefore,this study takes blue and red as the baseline and selects their complementary colors and neighboring colors as the comparison to study whether there are differences in the effects of complementary color background,neighboring color background and single color background on creative tasks.In experiment 1,blue was selected as the single color background,blue and light blue as the adjacent color background,and blue and orange as the complementary color background.The influence of different color backgrounds on divergent thinking tasks,including the improved product task of TTCT and the unfinished drawing task,was studied by subjective score.The results showed that the complementary color group was significantly higher than the blue group in improving the fluency of product tasks.The complementary color group was significantly higher than the blue group,and the neighboring color group was significantly higher than the blue group in improving the uniqueness of the product task.In terms of the uniqueness of the unfinished drawing task,the complementary color group was significantly higher than the blue group.The complementary color group was significantly higher than the blue group in terms of fluency in unfinished drawing tasks.This indicates that the complementary color background can promote creativity more than the neighboring color background and the single blue background in both verbal and pictorial creative tasks.In experiment 2,complementary color background,adjacent color background and single color background were the same as in experiment 1,but the creative task used was not only retained the unfinished drawing task of TTCT,but also added the alien painting task and the distant association task(RAT),and added the objective score.On the one hand,the results of experiment 1 were verified,and on the other hand,the influence of color background on the convergent thinking task was explored.The results showed that: taking subjective rating as the dependent variable,the fluency of unfinished drawing task in the complementary color group was significantly higher than that in the blue group.On the uniqueness of unfinished drawing task,the complementary color group is significantly higher than the neighboring color group.In the abstraction of the unfinished drawing task,the complementary color group is significantly higher than the neighboring color group,and the complementary color group is significantly higher than the blue group.Taking the uniqueness of the unfinished drawing task as the dependent variable,the complementary color group was significantly higher than the neighboring color group and the blue group.The results of experiment 1 are generally verified,namely,complementary color background can promote creative divergent thinking more than neighboring color background and single color background,but complementary color background does not seem to promote convergent thinking significantly.Experiment 3 still uses the same three task backgrounds as experiment 1.The AUT task with divergent thinking and the RAT task with convergent thinking(reducing the difficulty)are used,and the uniqueness objective score is adopted to continue to test the influence of different color backgrounds on the creative task.The results showed that the AUT task fluency of the complementary color group was significantly higher than that of the adjacent color group and the blue group.In terms of the uniqueness of AUT task,the complementary color group is significantly higher than the adjacent color group and the blue group.However,there was no significant difference in RAT tasks.This suggests that complementary color backgrounds promote the outcome of divergent thinking tasks more than neighboring color backgrounds and single color backgrounds,but not for convergent thinking tasks.In experiment 4,red was used as a single color background and three completely different color backgrounds were used to further explore the extensibility of the divergent thinking task promoted by color background.The results showed that the AUT task fluency of the complementary color group was significantly higher than that of the red group.In terms of the uniqueness of AUT task,the complementary color group is significantly higher than the red group.The complementary color group is significantly higher than the red group in the uniqueness of the unfinished picture task in TTCT.In the new color background,the results were consistent with the previous experiments,namely,the complementary color background can promote the results of divergent thinking task more than the neighboring color background and the single color background.In summary,this study shows that:(1)Compared with single color background and adjacent color background,complementary color background can best promote the completion of divergent thinking tasks;(2)The complementary color background did not significantly promote the completion of the convergent thinking task;(3)As a color group with little color difference,neighboring colors cannot play a role in the level of divergent thinking stably.There are two inferences in this paper: Maybe because the complementary color background has higher novelty in perception level than the other two color backgrounds,it can improve the arousal level and thus stimulate the creative performance of the subjects.It is also possible that complementary colors contain both warm and cool colors,leading to the conflict of approach-avoidance motivation,which indicates that subjects are in an unusual environment and is conducive to divergent thinking. |
