Study On The Historical Geography Of Tongzhou Prefecture In Qing Dynasty

In the Qing Dynasty,Tongzhou Government District was located in the east of Guanzhong Plain of Shaanxi Province,roughly equal to the administrative area of Weinan City today.This administrative division is located at the junction of Shaanxi,Henan and Shanxi provinces.As the main part of the alluvial plain of Weili River,it has unique advantages in natural and human geographical environment.Located in the east gateway of Shaanxi,the superior hydrological conditions of the Weihe and Luohe produce convenient land and water transportation.The unique location characteristics of the mountains and rivers and the throat of the eastern Qin Dynasty form an important military strategic position.In addition,the folk customs of learning and righteousness,diligence and simplicity made it become the great government of Shaanxi in the Qing Dynasty,called the land of Tianfu and the victory of Xijing.In the Qing Dynasty,the towns in the Tongzhou Prefecture area,as the continuously developing geographical entity in the region,are the concentrated reflection of the civilization center and social and economic development of the region.In the Ming Dynasty,the regulation of towns and towns in the same state area was basically formed,and in the later period,with the prosperity of commerce and trade began to show different hierarchical systems.In the early Qing Dynasty,the Ming system,coupled with the prosperity and development of commodity economy,made the urban hierarchy system in this region continuously develop and improve and finally formed.The historical relics left in the interaction of various factors will not only continue to have an impact on the current urban development,but also be closely related to the future development trend of the district to some extent.Today,the influence of Weinan metropolitan area driven by Xi’an as the core is getting higher and higher,and the regional area of the same prefecture is highly overlapping with the current metropolitan area.Therefore,it is necessary to study the town of the same prefecture in the Qing Dynasty.From the perspective of historical geography,this paper takes the towns of the Qing Dynasty as the research object and discusses them into two parts.The previous part contains two chapters,which are mainly elaborated from a macro perspective,exploring the natural and human geographical environment basis of the formation and development of towns in the Qing Dynasty,and discussing the types and distribution characteristics of urban functions formed on the basis of urban development and the continuous improvement of the urban system.After part of the content contains two small topics,from the perspective of micro,in the combing with state town city size and built on the basis of the analysis of the external form of town with state area,and the key analysis town internal space structure,mainly including the gate road and internal block system and the distribution and characteristics of functional areas.The last small topic selects typical towns as individual cases,discusses individual and general discussion,and analyzes the distribution characteristics of two counties,cities and towns in Dali and Huazhou to confirm the basic situation of the prefectures and towns in the Qing Dynasty.
