| In the era of media,digitalization,and informationization,literature and film and television works continue to interact in a win-win manner,and the theory of "intertextuality" in postmodern thinking provides new insights for the study of film and television adaptations of literary works.By looking at the film and television adaptations of Bi Feiyu’s novels from the perspective of intertextuality,we can not only examine the gains and losses in the process of film and television adaptations,but also help to break the mold of "dichotomy" between the original novel and the film and television works,treating them as an integrated whole and paying attention to the intertextual interpretations of the audience.This paper is divided into three chapters to study the intertextuality of Bi Feiyu’s original novels and his film and television works.The first chapter discusses the causes of the film and television adaptations of Bi Feiyu’s novels.Accompany by iterative updates and portability improvement of portable terminals,videos have become the dominant approach of information transmission.As the subject of literary creation,Bi Feiyu’s reception of film and television texts and his interactions with film and television workers are internalized in his literary critical practice and are the source of influence on his literary creation.The Texts of Bi Feiyu’s novels have unique detailed,dynamic display of daily life and concrete psychological activities,and the combination of various shots and scenes demonstrates different types of features of montage,which provides convenience for cross-media translation.The attitude of Bi Feiyu and the cinematic sense of the novel text provide a wide creative space for film and television workers,and give strong support to the production of meaning in the process of re-creation.The second chapter discusses the path selection when adapting Bi Feiyu’s novels for script.Based on the perspective of narrative elements,in terms of narrative point of view,filmmakers give equal importance to both form and content,and deal flexibly with a varies narrative perspectives of Bi Feiyu’s novels;in terms of narrative timing,creators focus on the use of verbal narrative types such as character dialogues,monologues,and voice-overs according to the artistic characteristics of different types of film and television texts,taking into account the logic of video narratives for transformation;as for the narrative rhythm,they take advantage of the film and television texts’ In terms of narrative rhythm,the narrative rhythm of the novel text is personalized and transformed based on the limited narrative length and the audience’s reception psychology.In terms of symbolic elements,in terms of objects and scenes,there are three types of recoding: restoration,change and addition;in terms of characters,there are three types of translation: continuation of characterization,partial change of characterization,and partial "variation" of character relationships.The third chapter discusses the gains and losses of film and television adaptations of Bi Feiyu’s novels.In terms of narrative content,the narrative of Bi Feiyu’s artistic characteristics of daily narrative continues,showing the real and delicate texture of daily life;as for narrative style,the narrative perspective,rhythm,and chronology are all effectively encoded based on the novel’s excellent narrative skills.In the process of informal transformation,there are also shortcomings that distort or even deviate from the deep humanistic concern of the novel and undermine the narrative logic.In the process of recoding,film and television workers rationalize their imagination,fill in the narrative gaps in the film and television images,and change the characters’ experiences and story endings,so that the hidden or explicit thematic implications of the novel’s text are highlighted and its main theme is generalized and deepened on the one hand,and on the other hand,film and television workers contact the real-life people who are different from the fictional characters in the novel in the process of adaptation,which helps Bi Feiyu’s deep humanistic concern to be realized.Script adaptations are not only an important way to disseminate literature,but also an effective way for writers to focus on human existence and influence on it. |
