With the development of food delivery platforms, more and more migrant workers are joining the ranks of riders. The platform also has higher and higher job requirements for the delivery riders, and the competition is increasingly fierce, which leads to the huge work pressure of the delivery riders, and their subjective well-being decreases accordingly. The low subjective well-being may reduce the level of mental health, lead to difficulties in social integration, causing a series of problems such as job burnout.Shanghai is also a city with a fast pace of life,a large population flow,a large demand for takeout, and a large number of takeout riders. It is particularly urgent to improve the subjective well-being of takeout riders in Shanghai. Therefore, this study examined the current situation and influencing factors of Shanghai takeaway riders’ subjective wellbeing through three sub studies. In the first study,8 riders in Pudong New Area of Shanghai were interviewed faceto-face about their subjective well-being and its influencing factors. The study found that work stress could reduce takeout riders’ subjective well-being,and self-esteem and sense of meaning in life could improve their subjective well-being.In the second study,a questionnaire was used to measure the subjective well-being of 388 riders in Pudong New Area of Shanghai. The results showed that gender, age, marriage, the presence of children, education and other factors also had a significant impact on the subjective well-being.The third study explored the mechanism of work stress,self-esteem and sense of meaning of life on subjective well-being of Shanghai takeout riders. The results showed that the work pressure of Shanghai takeout riders negatively predicted the subjective well-being;Both self-esteem and sense of meaning of life positively predicted subjective well-being;Self-esteem plays a mediating role between job stress and subjective well-being.Meaning of life plays a role as a moderating variable between work stress and SWB,that is,the higher the meaning of life, the smaller the negative impact of work stress on SWB.This study took Shanghai takeaway riders as subjects, and revealed the factors that affect takeaway riders’ subjective well-being and their mechanisms,in order to provide a reference path to improve Shanghai takeaway riders’ subjective well-being..
