The Popular Reading Publishing Company is a folk cultural institution integrating creation,publication and distribution.Its origin can be traced back to the Sanhu Book Society founded in Yenching University.After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War,together with the "Literary Association",it became one of the main cultural forces to enlighten the people,publicize the Anti-Japanese War and save the country.In the course of carrying out the propaganda work of the Anti-Japanese War,the publication of popular books created a large number of closely related popular books.Especially after the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War,the close cooperation with the "Literary Association" and the practical activities of the establishment of the publication of popular books in Lanzhou,Gansu Province,had an important impact on the development of the Anti-Japanese War literature and art movement.Compared with other cultural institutions and literary and artistic organizations of the same period,The Popular Reading Publishing Company was not only representative in terms of its founding objectives,creation,publication and influence,but also gave full play to the characteristics of mobilizing the Anti-Japanese War with the help of popular books.Moreover,the members of the magazine of popular books also gave full play to their strengths by using the method of "old bottles of new wine" to create works that were in line with the aesthetic habits of the people.The popular works of literature and art in line with the actual needs of the Anti-Japanese War vividly showed the spirit of the movement.The popularization theory of "new wine in old bottles" of popular publications and the popular literary works created by this method not only enriched the diversification of Anti-Japanese War literature and art,but also played a unique role in the development of the Anti-Japanese War literature and art movement.It also deepened the understanding of the problem of "literature popularization" and had an impact on the blending of elegance and vulgarities in Chinese new literature since the Anti-Japanese War.This paper takes the Popular Reading Publishing Company as the research object,attempts to comb the literature and historical materials of the publishing house of popular books,and uses the literature research method and the cultural research method to deeply analyze the realistic opportunities and challenges encountered by the publishing house of popular books in the process of literary and artistic activities.It presents the development track of the staff composition,spiritual source,creation practice and interaction with the anti-Japanese art movement of popular publications,so as to highlight the unique significance and literary value of popular publications in the anti-Japanese art movement.Specifically,the thesis consists of four chapters,which can be divided into three parts:The first part,from the perspective of literature and historical materials research,sorts out the general situation of the establishment period of the publication of popular books,mainly through the beginning and end of its establishment,personnel composition,founding declaration,spiritual exploration and reports on the publication of popular books,to fully show the whole picture of the existence period of the publication of popular books,so that we understand that the establishment of the publication of popular books is not unexpected,but naturally.The second part mainly discusses the popularization method of "new wine in an old bottle",the creation of popular books and the application of various media from the micro Angle.Through two periods to elaborate,the Anti-Japanese War before and after the outbreak of the demarcation point.Before the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War,the Anti-Japanese War mainly focused on the popular books compiled by the popular book publishers and the newspapers and periodicals founded by them.The analysis was mainly carried out from the format design,circulation channels,price setting and reading contents,showing that they were concerned for the public in every link of the periodicals.It cooperated with the All-China Association for the Resistance to the Enemy of Literary and Art Circles and established people’s periodicals and periodicals to serve the people in the northwest on the basis of investigation and education in the northwest.This paper probes into its achievements on the theory of "popularization" and its typical exemplary role in theoretical practice,so as to think about the role of the publication of popular books on the art movement of the Anti-Japanese War.The third part,from a macroscopic perspective,discusses the theory and practice of popularization literature and art of the magazine of popular books,and its contribution to the Anti-Japanese War literature and art movement.The publication of popular books not only gives popular literature a new form of expression,but also uses a variety of artistic techniques to enhance the artistic quality of popular literature.It also promoted the war of resistance,so that the people could more quickly join the national war of full action;It also promoted the popularization of literature,turning the previous theory into practice during the Anti-Japanese War.The cooperation with the "Literary Association" showed the popularization practice to the group of new literature writers,and immeasurably gave the new literature a form of development beyond the elegant and vulgar.Popular publications’ efforts in the Anti-Japanese War are worthy of affirmation.Its popularizing theory and practical activities did not disappear with the dissolution of popular publications,but remained in the material form of popular publications and the spiritual form of "popularization" theory. |
