A Report On C-E Simulated Interpreting Of Dialogue,Digital Ethics Behind Algorithms

In the digital era,information security is increasingly important for individuals,enterprises and countries alike.The difficulties and setbacks encountered in the development and governance of information security have become a hot topic of our times.As a communication bridge for different language users,interpreters have the responsibility to keep pace with the times and share the world with our wisdom.Therefore,this report takes Dialogue: Digital Ethics behind Algorithms as the material to simulate a consecutive interpreting(CI).Under the guidance of the interpreting dynamic RDA model,difficulties encountered in the mock CI and corresponding strategies are analyzed from the following three stages of interpretation,listening comprehension,memorization and expression.It is pointed out that in Chinese-English CI,even if she has made theoretical preparations,referred to related materials and built up terminology,the interpreter might not be able to avoid some difficulties in interpreting,including the meaning selection of culturally-loaded words in listening comprehension,logic confusion caused by the arrangement and pattern of notes and notes of proper nouns in memorization,and what kind of background knowledge is needed for listeners to better understand speakers’ idea and where to split Chinese run-on sentences.To overcome these difficulties,the interpreter proposes improvements to the interpretation with incorrect or poor expression from the following three perspectives,namely,Relevance for listening comprehension,Deverbalization for memorization and Adaptation for expression under the guidance of the RDA model which focuses on interpreting skills studies,and comes up with relevant strategies to better complete such tasks,such as note-taking,deletion of content,paraphrasing of words,playing back,etc.The report depicts how an interpreter can solve some specific problems in interpreting under the guidance of RDA model,which not only provides guidance for interpreter to perform better in similar practice,but also exemplifies the practice application of RDA model in interpretation.
