From Satirical Novel To Children’s Literature

This essay discusses the similarities and differences of Zhang Tianyi,a left-wing writer who created satirical novels and children’s literature in the 1930s and 1940s,and explores Zhang Tianyi,who formed a relatively fixed personal style in the field of satirical fiction before trying to create children’s literature,and the artistic resources and literary core of his children’s literature works drawn from the experience of satirical novel creation,when the artistic creation techniques of the same writer are transplanted to different genres.Corresponding introverted modifications have been made according to local conditions.Although Zhang Tianyi once tried to integrate the critical strength of satirical novels and the fantasy style of children’s literature to form a new allegorical style of creation,and has put it into practice,after the founding of the People’s Republic of China,for both internal and external reasons,Zhang Tianyi stopped his cultivation in the field of satirical novels and concentrated on children’s literature.At the same time,in order to eliminate the creative style of his early children’s literature that relied too much on the depiction of satirical novels,Zhang Tianyi consciously made many fractured changes to his post-founding creations,and compared with the children’s literature before the founding of the People’s Republic of China,he made many changes while maintaining the basic style and creative core.After greatly deleting the absurd fantasy and harsh cynicism in his works,Zhang Tianyi created a batch of more plain and gentle children’s literature,which was also closer to the expectations of literary critics in the fifties.But whether in the early or late stages,Zhang Tianyi,who has always regarded educating people rather than entertaining people as the core of his children’s literature creation.He has never changed his original intention of educating children as his creative direction.
