Terminology Management In Translation Project Of Tea Science

Terminology management is in line with the diversified development of the language service sector,which is an effective quality assurance of translation project.For the time being,terminology study at home and abroad is primarily theoretical,and systematic research on terminology in translation practice is relatively scarce.The application of terminology management in the field of tea science translation has never been attempted,but tea science terminology management can serve as a foundation for the accurate dissemination of tea culture,promoting Chinese tea culture’s globalization,and improving China’s cultural self-confidence and international influence.The author’s management of tea science terminology is based on a translation project of a book,Introduction to Tea Science.The terminologies in chapter 20 and chapter 22 are selected as classification and translation cases.The two chapters mainly introduce tea machinery and tea culture,which are two valuable categories for supplementing the existing tea science terminologies.Based on the project overview and difficulties,this report divides the terminology management of tea science into three stages and provides a complete solution for the tea science terminology management through the initiation and planning process,the executing process,and the closing process.In the management of tea science terminology,the author innovatively classifies tea science terminologies under the Category Theory,and applies the Cognitive Translation Concept to guide the translation of tea science terminologies.It plays a certain positive role in improving the standardization and accuracy of tea terminology,and also provides reference for the follow-up similar studies.Through the management of tea science terminology,it is found that there is a long way to establish a large-scale tea science terminology term-base.The author summarizes the limitations of the tea science terminology management,and also proposes three management implications: advocating cross-border cooperation;keeping dynamic maintenance of tea science terminology;converting the termbase of tea science into language assets.The author hopes that this practice report will promote the optimization of the terminology management of tea science,raise domestic awareness of tea science translation,and promote the tea culture diffusion.
