The source text is from China Agricultural Brand Development Report(2020)published in July 2020.The text,led by the Department of Marketing and Informatization of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and prepared in cooperation with China Agricultural University,mainly introduces the main practices,achievements,problems and mechanism exploration of China agricultural brand construction in the new era.The language features are formal and rigorous,which is a typical case of agricultural external publicity texts.The translation can help those who have been paying attention to Chinese agriculture better understand the development of China agricultural brand in recent years.Thus,the translation is of great value.This report concentrates on the first five chapters of the source text.It is divided into four chapters and analyzed based on the framework of "Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation" proposed by Professor Li Changshuan.Chapter 1 introduces the translation project,including the background of the project,the translation materials and the translation process;Chapter 2 briefly introduces the "Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation" framework;Chapter 3 analyzes the problems encountered in translation from these three perspectives and how to use translation strategies to solve them.In the "comprehension" section,the analysis is carried out from three aspects--consultation of materials,consideration of context and logical thinking.In the section of "expression",this report analyzes from four aspects--standardizing terminologies translation,avoiding Chinglish,adjusting the word order and voice and ensuring cohesion and coherence.In the "adaptation" section,amplification,omission and flexible adjustment are involved.Chapter 4 summarizes the gains and experiences of this translation practice.Based on this framework,a thorough analysis of the difficulties in the translation process is made,and the framework of "Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation" is gradually internalized thus a new understanding of the translation practice is gained.Not only the quality of the translation is improved but also the knowledge and expressions of agricultural brand construction are accumulated.Moreover,some translation strategies and skills of agricultural external publicity texts are summarized in the hope that they will be references for the translation practice of such texts in the future.
